Hyundai Motor America (HMA), which serves as an official NFL Sponsor, is returning for Super Bowl LI with an even more ambitious and creative program than ever before, and one that will mark several firsts in Super Bowl advertising.
HMA will film a documentary throughout the course of the Big Game that will capture some of the biggest and best off-the-field Super Bowl moments. The advertising spot will run in the “post-gun” slot, which is the first commercial break following the conclusion of the game and right before the Super Bowl trophy ceremony. Here at our San Diego, CA Hyundai dealership, we can’t wait to see what HMA has in store.
HMA has tapped renowned director and writer, Peter Berg, who most recently directed the films Patriots Day, Deepwater Horizon, and Lone Survivor, to shoot, edit, and produce the 90-second documentary in real-time. The Hyundai brand is a long-time Super Bowl advertiser and 2017 will mark the ninth time in the last 10 years that it has participated in the big game.
Dean Evans, CMO, HMA, had this to say about the new and exciting commercial experience:
Super Bowl is the biggest day in advertising and following our incredibly successful 2016, we wanted to push the creativity and storytelling even further. Our brand commitment is to make things ‘better’ and we are going to give some deserving fans an experience they will never forget. Peter Berg and his team will be capturing it live during the game and we can think of no one better to tell what will be an amazing story.
