Last month, our team here at Kearny Mesa Hyundai was thrilled to learn that the 2016 Hyundai Tucson crossover utility vehicle received top ratings in the most demanding of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests.
The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is the only vehicle in the small SUV category to earn the top rating of “Good” for both driver and passenger crash protection in the very difficult small-overlap frontal-offset crash tests. David Zuby, Executive Vice President of IIHS, had this to say about the 2016 Hyundai Tucson:
Hyundai should be commended for ensuring that both drivers and their front-seat passengers get equal protection in small overlap crashes in the 2016 Tucson.
The sporty and dynamic 2016 Hyundai Tucson features new advanced safety technologies such as AEB with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning system, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, backup warning sensors, and a standard rearview camera. It is also engineered to provide its passengers with several defensive layers as well as reducing mirror blind spots and the A-pillar to enhance driver visibility. Mike O’Brien, Vice President, Corporate and Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America, had this to say about the 2016 Hyundai Tucson:
At Hyundai, we continually strive to provide outstanding passenger safety to our customers, regardless of vehicle size or price. Our 2016 Tucson’s good rating for both driver and passenger in the demanding IIHS small overlap crash test reflects our commitment to passenger safety at every level. We’re certainly proud of our Tucson’s industry-leading performance in the small SUV category.
